Conference Shuttle

Lawrence is about an hour drive from MCI. With no inexpensive regular shuttle service available, we have arranged for First Student bus service to provide transportation to and from the airport. See the table below for times.

On May 27, 28, and 29, buses will leave the airport at the times listed below and drop passengers off at the KU Union (for the Oread and the Dorms), the Eldridge, and the Springhill Suites. On June 1 and 2, buses will provide transport back to the airport with pick-up at each of the three Lawrence locations.

The cost is very reasonable: $25 roundtrip/ $15 one way. (The regular shuttle companies charge around $100 roundtrip.) However, your ride will not be elegant; the company uses yellow school buses. We will not be running buses on May 30th or 31st. If you wish to use the bus service we have set up, plan your flight days and times accordingly.

The deadline to sign up for shuttle service was end of day May 18, 2013. That deadline has passed. If you are still in need of transportation to or from the airport, please consider one of the commercial services below. Thank you.

We will do our best to accommodate flight delays, especially if the delayed flight arrives during scheduled bus service hours. However, we can make no guarantees.

If you will be arriving or departing on days and/or at times when the bus service is not running, we have a list of regular shuttle services below. However, a car rental might be an even better option. We also have a ride board link below, if you would like to cut down on expenses by sharing a ride to/from the airport.

We apologize for this inconvenience. The expense and relative dearth of shuttle service between MCI and Lawrence baffle even those of us who have been living here for decades.
